Faith Chapel of Churchville

MINISTRY

Pastor Dave was saved in the summer of 1970 in a home church in the village of Churchville.  A few years later, under the tutelage of his pastor, he began to teach home Bible studies in the Churchville, Bergen and Ogden area.  After the pastor left the area to pastor a church in the Southern Tier, he and Pat then began attending a church in Caledonia.  Shortly after, he received a call to become interim pastor of a small work in Gates.  After six months there he returned to Caledonia where he served on the Deacon Board for 14 years.  During that time, he had many opportunities to preach and was the Adult Sunday School Teacher for many years.  He received a Bible School diploma in 1986 through Liberty Home Bible Institute in Lynchburg, VA.   Dave and Pat joined Faith Temple in 1990 and received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit in the spring of 1991. He was hired by Faith Temple in 1995 and served as Membership Director and overseer of their volunteers.  He wrote a manual on recruiting, training and placing volunteers in the Body of Christ. While at Faith Temple he had many opportunities to preach and teach, until he was sent out to pastor.  He is an ordained minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pat is a licensed Minister of the Gospel and often shares from the pulpit.  She is known by all our friends and guest ministry as a supreme cook and awesome hostess!  She has a very successful telephone ministry in which she counsels women in the church and from outside the church, as well.

Pastor Dave has written a book on vision, entitled, “Castles In The Air” with theme of having a vision for your life.  The book is available at the church and soon to be available online, as well.

Pastor Matt Atkinson was raised in Indiana and attended World Harvest Bible College after high school, where he majored in Praise and Worship.  He graduated from there with a 2 year degree, after having interned extensively in many areas of ministry, including Children's Ministry, youth, homeless ministry and the drama department, as well as being active in the college choir.  While at Bible college, Matt met his future wife, Jen.  After they were married they moved to Churchville.  In 2000, Matt and Jen were asked to be a part of a new church plant, Faith Chapel.  Matt has become an integral part of Faith Chapel's Ministerial team and is currently an associate pastor.  He and Jen live in Churchville with their growing family.
